AGT BETA Testing

BETA testing for AGT software SD0936 and SD0937 has begun. Both versions of the software feature the same content with SD0936 applying to 435 boards and SD0937 for SXLR boards.

The software features two new games, Lucky Bubbles and San Fa Panda. The software also has a RAM Clear Update.

We anticipate BETA testing to conclude March 22.

Machine Destructions Reminder

The license renewal fee for a video lottery operator is based on the number of machines licensed as of June 30 of each year.

To avoid paying this fee for a machine that may no longer be operable, an operator must complete and submit a Video Lottery Disposal form to the Lottery. Once the form has been received, the Lottery will arrange for a final inspection of the machine and witness the destruction.

If you have machines you need destroyed by June 30, the form must be submitted to the Lottery by June 1, 2026 to allow adequate time to coordinate inspection and internal accounting procedures.

For requests received after June 1, 2026, the Lottery cannot guarantee the request will be processed by June 30 although every effort will be made to accommodate the request.

Copies of the Video Lottery Disposal form and the Declaratory Ruling 95-1 by the South Dakota Lottery Commission regarding machine destruction are available on the Lottery’s website.

Fiscal Year 2027 Securities

The South Dakota Lottery will soon begin preparing Fiscal Year 2027 security amounts based on revenue generated January 1 through March 31, 2026. We anticipate these will be mailed at the end of April.

Since these required security amounts are due by July 1, we ask operators to be vigilant in providing or updating their security item.

The required security is set forth in Administrative Rule 48:02:05:04(18), and states that each licensed video lottery operator is required to “furnish security to the lottery by July 1 of each year equal to one-eighteenth of the state’s share of estimated annual net machine income derived from the operator’s video lottery machines either by purchase of a surety bond, deposit in cash, or receipt of an irrevocable letter of credit or a certificate of deposit issued by a South Dakota financial institution with the lottery endorsed on it as a payee.”

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Shawna Zebroski at 773-5770 or shawna.zebroski@state.sd.us.
